Tips from Pylon:
Here are some rules I live by to keep on my game.
PYLONS 10 COMMANDMENTS (for Noobs):
- Thou shalt use the smallest crosshair (the dot b/c this will force better accuracy).
- Thou shalt get a sound card with EAX (digital surround)capability
- Thou shalt use high quality digital headphones instead of speakers (very important so you can hear and react better and quicker)
- Turn off game music
- Thou shalt not use cordless mouse or keyboard b/c not fast enough and slow down when batteries are low.
- Thou shal lower game graphic quality in your game options or you can also edit config file. for help go here and check out scripts www.kan.org/michael/RTCW
- Thou shal not scroll between weapons b/c it takes too long. change your Config file and set up weapons hot keys instead.
- Headshot headshot headshot (DL paintball mod so you can see where you are missing. paintball leaves paint splotches where your bullets hit)
- play on servers with good ping or there is no pont in playing b/c it willl hurt your gameplay.
- THOU SHALT NOT CHEAT OR YOU WILL BURN IN HELL FOR ETERNITY!
When I hear someone coming around a corner I start firing before I even see them (especially on real damage).
I see sooooo many people pull out their nades and throw 2 -3 all in the same spot. for example flame nades: Throw one flame nade and another right on top of it ...WHY?? Wait till it is about to burn out and then toss another or throw it somewhere else.
When you see a nade being tossed around a corner in your direction.. always wait cause the same fool is gonna throw another one right away. Try stagger the nades so your enemy wont anticipate it. I dont even know why im posting this b/c you would think everyone would know.
Also, big pet peeve: throwing flame nades around your own spawn or in front of the flag you are trying to get to, or tossing them at your teams exit points.
Heres another peeve while Im at it: when your team spawns everyone runs out at the same time and you all get blown up b/c your enemy sees you spawn. Try not to run around in a tight group; keep you distance from your teammates and stay close to the walls or some protection. If you want you can DL the demos of some good clans at CACHED.NET and take note of how they play. This bitch session is not directed towards anyone in particular so please dont take offence.
Tips from Jaeger:
Each weapon has an optimal firing sequence. The mp5 is 4 shots approximately, the ak and m4 are 3, sig is 3-4, the m60 is 2 the USAS is clip size, the m3a1 is tap, the uzi is about 5. the trick is to find a "zone" with each weapon and stick with it.
